Meet Amity

We are so blessed to share our lives with a personality like Amity. Named after an iconic witch and the Amityville Horror, she is nothing like her namesake in behavior. This girl is everything that we could have hoped for in type and temperament when we planned this breeding years ago. Amity has her father’s drive to perform, but her mother’s intelligent and inquisitive mind. When we talk about the temperaments that we strive for in our breeding program, this girl is right on the mark. Amity is happy, outgoing and appropriate in social settings and with meeting strangers. She is a typical Akita girl and is not dog friendly with all dogs, but she remains composed and neutral around them. She has attended several AKC Meet The Breed events to represent the Akita breed for the AKC and for the Akita Club of America. She makes a fabulous ambassador for our breed and as a representative of what good genetics and appropriate raising, training and socializing can look like for this breed. Amity has enjoyed her time in the show ring, where her first debut was at the hands of a Novice Junior handler. She showed beautifully, never stopped wagging her tail and exhibited the grace and patience needed to show alongside a very green junior without missing a beat – all at the young age of 10 months old! Several months later in the Fall we attended a show in southern TN where she picked up WB for back to back major wins towards her AKC championship. After a lengthy break from the show ring while we prioritized going after some of our GCHs on our other dogs, we brought her back to the conformation ring in Canfield, OH in the summer of 2025. She took another lovely WB win for a third major, leaving her needing only one single to finish her AKC championship. We look forward to finishing her championship and then plan to have her health testing done to hopefully begin planning for an exciting litter for her. Stay tuned! We are looking forward to a fun future with our favorite little witch.
