Meet Ash

Ash is our pick puppy from our March 2022 litter by Salem x Bokeh. Ash is co-owned with Brandy Ketchum in IL and is participating in conformation as well as training for several dog sports. Ash started showing in the BPUP ring in the fall of 2023, first earning a Best Puppy in Show with the Paper Cities Kennel Club. Shortly after beginning his show career he began picking up points towards his championship, taking several WD/BOW wins over the balance of the year. With a few more months of maturity (mentally and physically) he started the 2024 year with a bang, snagging his first major and first OH group placement while also finishing his UKC championship in the same weekend. He gained his second major going Best of Breed from the classes over a beautiful lineup of dogs in WI. Needing only a few singles to finish, he went out in style going Best of Breed from the classes again, earning an Owner Handled Working Group 4th and a regular Working Group 4th for another five point major. At a very hot summer show in Indiana, Ash went Best of Breed in a beautiful line up to complete his AKC Grand Championship. He is an amazing young male and we are so proud of him, but more importantly of his incredible owner and handler who has put so much time into making him shine. This pairing between Salem and Bokeh was a very performance focused breeding for us and we are so excited watching our expectations come to fruition in the puppies produced by this. At just shy of a year old we had a bunch of young boys (and one beautiful LC girl!) already titling in the show ring, the performance fields, doing therapy work and working hard with their handlers to be great advocates for the Akita breed. We could not be prouder of our extended family and all their accomplishments.

Found below are two of Ash's littermates who are also co-owned with us, Loomis and Dublin. Loomis resides with our good friends in Tennessee and is learning the conformation ring also with his owner handler in addition to learning several performance venues where he is actively titling. Loomis has proven to be an amazingly versatile dog and much like his father, has an abundance of drive and eagerness to work with his handler that we hold such a high value in when it comes to our breeding program. Dublin is co-owned with a performance rockstar out west. Dublin is currently IntCH UKC RBIS Multiple Group Winning CH AKC Group Placing NOHS Group Placing CH Morrow's I Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You BN RI FDC BCAT SWA SCAE SEAE SCE SHDA CGCA CGCU TKP ATT FITG FTN VAX2 ORT NW1 UWP RATI PKD-T - being the youngest Akita to earn the TKP title as well as this team earning the Versatlity Excellent award through the Akita Club of America and now also their VAX3 title from the ACA, which is an incredible feat at this young age. On the road to his AKC CH title, he took several OH group placements and recently finished his AKC CH title. He is actively working on his GCH title now with a major win towards this in a lovely line up.
