Meet Olive
Chestnut's Little Xochiquetzal BCAT
Olive is a funny looking Akita, isn't she? We imported Olive from our good friend Gesa Waldecker of Chestnut's Little Indians American Bulldogs in Germany. Despite the aesthetic differences, Olive fits in to our life and plans absolutely perfectly. While we do participate in some dog sports and work with our Akitas, there was an avenue that we wouldn't dare touch with the Akita breed. That was the world of bitework and bitesport. (Want to know why? Check out the FAQ section of our website, we go in depth on why the Akita is not an appropriate breed for bitesport.) However, as a dog enthusiast, I am deeply interested in all areas of dog work and performance. The American Bulldog (not to be confused with the bully breeds - bully breeds and herding breeds rule the fields in this department, but we don't mesh well with herding breeds and didn't feel one would fit in our home. Having the look, temperament and tenacity of the American Bulldog, we set out to find a suitable AB for us. We are ecstatic with Olive and the potential she has shown and the 100% she gives us working every day. We are so grateful to her breeder for entrusting us with her. Olive is actively showing in the conformation ring as well as training with a French Ring helper club here in middle Tennessee. We are so excited for the bright future ahead of our little white dog.
